Tahitian keshi pearls are rare, non-nucleated pearls, made of 100% pure nacre. They form accidentally when a cultured pearl oyster rejects its implanted bead or when mantle tissue forms a secondary pearl sack. Formerly considered of zero value, the real ones (like these) are now considered among the most prized & are typically quite pricey because they're pure, solid nacre.
