Pearl FAQ
What types of pearls do you carry?
Tahitian pearls grow in black-lipped oysters in French Polynesia and come in naturally dark shades of charcoal, peacock, green, and aubergine. South Sea pearls are the big, glowing ones, including the golden pearls from gold-lipped oysters. Edison pearls are a large, lustrous freshwater pearl in rich metallic colors. Baroque, stick, and coin pearls are the rebels: irregular, flat, or elongated shapes, and no two are alike.
Are Tahitian pearls naturally dark?
Yes. Their color comes from the oyster itself, which is why no two strands look the same. Learn more in Tahitian Pearls: The Black Pearls of the South Seas.
How do I care for pearls?
Last on, first off: put pearls on after perfume, hairspray, and sunscreen, and take them off first. Wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing and store them flat, away from harder gems that can scratch them.
